Description
The workshop is designed for individuals, regardless of whether they have disabilities or not, who have an interest in delving into the realms of theatre, dance and music, through the Improvisation Technique. The main goals of the workshop include guiding participants to explore the expressive possibilities of the body in dance, with or without music, and understanding the role of internal rhythm. Additionally, the workshop delves into various approaches to stage performance and explores the identification of acting tools. By the end of the workshop, participants will have engaged with topics concerning accessibility for individuals with disabilities and gained valuable experiential insights that can be applied in teaching.

Elli Merkouri
is an actress and drama teacher currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Theatre Department of the School of Fine Arts at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She graduated from the Drama School of the State Theatre of Northern Greece, the Theatre Department's Master Integrated program at the School of Fine Arts (AUTH), Postgraduate Program of Studies in Physical Education & Sports at (NKUA) (focus on Anthropology of Dance). She holds a leadership role in the Theatrical Group of Deaf "Crazy Colors" where she directs and actively participates as an actress. He has made presentations in lectures and conferences at academic institutions.
Sofia Zagka
is a dancer and choreographer, having completed her studies at the Department of Fine Arts at the Athens School of Fine Arts. Since 2009, she has been actively engaged in education as a specialized visual arts teacher. In addition to her role as an actress with the Theatrical Group of Deaf "Crazy Colors," she actively participates in dance performances and showcases her artistic creations in solo and group exhibitions and she has collaborated with various cultural institutions.The Film Group of the Greek Archaeologists Association produced a documentary titled "The Road of Sophia," delving into her personal history.
Dr. Maria I. Koutsouba
is full Professor of "Dance Studies with emphasis on Greek Traditional Dance" at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Tutor of "Open and Distance Education" at the Hellenic Open University. During her 34 years of professional and academic life, she has performed and taught Greek traditional dance in Greece and abroad. She is member of scientific organisations in Greece and abroad and has participated in research programmes. Her research interests and publications are mainly on social and human sciences and dance (ethnochoreology/dance anthropology, dance ethnography, dance notation and morphology, dance and education/cultural policy).
