Alexander Bergs (University of Osnabrück), Historical Construction Grammar

 

Construction Grammar has been used very successfully as a usage-based model in the study of various modern languages. 

There have also been a number of studies on Construction Grammar and Language Change. What is lacking, however, is a comprehensive, i.e. synchronic and diachronic constructionist approach to historical languages. In this course we will look into the details of what such an approach can look like.
