Quick tips:
Athens PT uses the same ticket for Metro-bus-tram, 1.2euros for 90 minutes
You do not need to buy a physical ticket; you may also scan your credit/debit card.
Google Wallet should work at metro stations and train stations, and on buses.

✈️ Airport Info

Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH) is approximately 35 km from the city center. You can travel from the airport to the city using different means of transport: taxi, metro or bus.

🚕 Taxi

Official taxis are yellow, with a “Taxi” sign on the roof, and operate 24/7.

  • The airport taxi rank is just outside Arrivals, near Exit 3.
  • Once you exit the terminal, you’ll see the official taxis lined up—just join the queue and wait your turn.
  • A taxi ride to Syntagma Square (city center) takes about 25 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

💡 Tip: It’s perfectly fine to let the driver know that you’re aware of the fixed fare to the city center.

Fixed fares:

  • Day (05:00–00:00): €40
  • Night (00:00–05:00): €55

Note: The day/night tariff depends on the time you arrive at your final destination, not when you leave the airport.
