VENUE

The conference will take place in the lecture rooms of the Dept. of History & Philosophy of Science, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Athens, Greece

(The lecture rooms are located in the Department's building next to the indoors gymnasium of the campus, about four hundred meters north of the main gate)

 

ACCOMMODATION

The areas which are relatively close to the location of the conference are Kaisariani, Zografou, Ilisia and Pagrati. You can find a place to stay via https://www.airbnb.gr or https://www.booking.com/

The area around the 'Andreas Syngros Hospital', in particular, is very close to the conference venue, with lots of nice small hotels -it is also very close to the city centre with several museums, coffee shops and bars nearby (it is also relatively close to 'Megaro Mousikis' subway station, which has a direct connection to the airport).

If you wish to stay somewhere close to the city centre, we suggest the area around Syntagma, Kolonaki and Exarchia, with relatively easy transportation to the conference area.

Hotels

For accommodation close to the conference venue, two options are:

-Ilisia hotel 

  • Single room: €80,00 (+ €3 stayover tax)
  • Double room: €90,00 (+ €3 stayover tax)

GETTING FROM THE AIRPORT TO ATHENS CENTRE
 
There is a metro station at the airport (blue line) and it can take you to Athens centre (ticket costs 10 euros and the trip is approx 35 min).

Evaggelismos station is the station that is nearest to the University. 
 
You can also take a taxi from the airport (this shouldn’t cost more than 40 euros during the day).

 

TRANSPORT TO CONFERENCE LOCATION

From the city centre, you can use the following bus lines:

220: Akadimia - Ano Ilisia (stop: 3rd Ilision)

224: El. Venizelou – Kaisariani (stop: 8th Kaisarianis)

221: Akadimia - Panepistimioupoli (stop: 3rd Ilision)

250: Panepistimioupoli – St. Evaggelismos

E90: Peiraias - Panepistimioupoli (Express)

Bus lines 250 and E90 cross the University Campus and stop just a few meters from the entrance of the Department of History and Philosophy of Science (stop: 1st Panepistimioupolis). Alternatively, you can access the conference via uber or taxi. We suggest downloading the Uber app or the taxiplon app  or the Free now app.

 

WHERE TO EAT

Kaisariani square is very close to the conference venue, with lots of nice cafes and restaurants.
