On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we invite you to the 6th International Conference on Aerogels, to be held on 5-7 July 2027, in A Coruña, Spain.
The meeting is organized by SUSTAiROGELS COST Action, AerogelsLab (University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain), Immunology Lab (CINBIO, University of Vigo, Spain) and G-CEL group (CICA, University of A Coruña, Spain).
AIMS & SCOPE
Aerogels are unique ultralight, nanoporous materials with exceptional properties, including high specific surface area, high open porosity and tunable functionalities. These features render these materials highly versatile for applications including, but not limited to, energy, construction, environmental remediation, biomedicine, and food. Meanwhile, aerogels are facing advances in the sustainable design, production, digitalization, and circular implementation of these materials in alignment with green and digital transition paradigms.
These scientific-technological advances need to assemble expertise from interdisciplinary and intersectoral domains and even to adopt a change of mindset, to get market-ready aerogels for different application fields. Technological developments for aerogels in terms of novel sustainable-by-design aerogels, AI-integrated aerogel processing, circular deployments processes and innovative characterization techniques should be implemented to boost the progresses on the topic.
This conference aims at assembling and integrating the most recent scientific-technological knowledge in aerogels on a wide range of fundamental and applied topics for environmental, food and biomedical applications. It also aims at strengthening and creating new ties and collaborations in the aerogel community all over the world.
Networking among conference participants will be favored through coffee breaks, poster sessions, meals, sponsor booths, and social events. Finally, Young Researchers and Innovators will have specific sessions within the programme to give more visibility to their research. An elevator pitch session will give participants the chance to compete for career development support.
