Description
This is a joint work with Vito F. Zenobi. In many circumstances, like groupoids with almost injective Lie algebroids, we have a groupoid whose pseudodifferential calculus contains the geometric operators associated with complete metrics, but not those associated with incomplete metrics. The latter typically possess several Fredholm self-adjoint extensions with compact (in a suitable sense) resolvents, while the former, at least when the natural criterium of full ellipticity is satisfied, tend to be essentially self-adjoint, Fredholm, but with noncompact resolvent.
For groupoids coming from blow-ups, we explore a rather systematic way to relate both types of operators.
