Welcome to the ISCHE 47 Conference in Athens, Greece!

ISCHE is an academic association dedicated to the history of education. Founded in 1978 as standing conference, it is now registered since 2015 in the German register of associations, keeping the same name. It includes individual and institutional members from all over the world.

In 2026, ISCHE will host the annual conference in Athens in partnership with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Greek Society of Education Historians and the Department of Secondary Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

🔗The eight strands of ISCHE47 are creating an Athens' Living Museum that waiting us. Eight themes, eight narratives, one city: The history of education comes alive in the streets of Athens!
