The  ΜΑ program in Greek and Eastern Mediterranean Archaeology (MEDITARCH) of the NKUA Department of History and Archaeology is delighted to host its first postgraduate conference in Greek and Eastern Mediterranean Archaeology. We cordially invite past and present postgraduate students and PhD candidates from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens to participate.

Conference Themes:

The conference aims to explore a systematic account of the evidence, methodologies, and current debates on Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean Archaeology spanning from prehistory through the Hellenistic period. Topics may include but are not limited to:

  • Art and iconography
  • Architecture
  • Landscape
  • Identity
  • Economy
  • Archaeology of death
  • Trade and interregional connections
  • Religion and ideology
